Let's just say that a few years ago, I didn't have much in common with that second list....I felt like I was 100 and I was barely 30.
So if that's you, then I get it...and we have a lot more in common than you might think.
For me, the combination of eating shitty processed food (and honestly, I ate "cleaner" than most people I knew) and being on the hormonal rollercoaster of having two babies had left my body, attitude, thoughts, sleep, and daily routines all jacked up. At that time, when my thyroid wasn't functioning and I couldn't sleep through the night (although I was exhausted), I was coffee dependent and kind of a bitch to be around, if I'm going to be honest.
I was really overweight, tired, and pissed off about it...and here's the thing: the more I exercised and ate protein shakes to try to lose weight (which I was convinced would magically fix all my life's problems) the more exhausted and reliant on sugar I became.
Is any of this sounding familiar?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that what is common is not necessarily normal. Yeah?
It is common to be a 20 or 30-something mom who is exhausted, dependent on caffeine to function, carrying way more than just baby weight, and who can't even fathom wanting to get naked and get busy when the lights go out....very, very common; but that doesn't mean it's normal.
I wish I had known then that I was in total control of getting my mojo back in every area of my life, and restricting calories or extra workouts were not what was going to get me there!
